Principal's Message

News from Mrs. Ruiz

Welcome to the 2012-13 school year.  Crockett community is absolutely the best in Midland!  I am extremely excited to be apart of such a great school.

We are a neighborhood school with over 450 students enrolled in prekindergarten through sixth grade. We offer bilingual classes in Pre-Kindergartenthrough Sixth grade, strings for our 6th grade students, and we have a wellequipped class size computer lab with wireless internet access.

Crockett has a very professional, well-trained, talented and caringstaff. The staff is dedicated to serving the individual needs of each student. We at Crockett believe that every teacher can be a positive influence to everychild and that every child can learn. Teamwork, dedication, and parentinvolvement are the main ingredients in producing successful learners. The Crockettstaff takes every opportunity to create and promote a good relationship betweenhome and school.

We are proud of our students and our accomplishments. Working together we can createa proud tradition of academic and social success that is expected from everystudent at Crockett Elementary. We set high expectations for our students andwork very hard to support their efforts in meeting the goals.  Please visit us online and in person anytime

Respectfully,

Volunteers Needed:
Parents our school is in need of volunteers. If you are interested in working on campus or at home, please contact the school. PTA will contact you about training and how you can help.  Please call 689-1430 and speak with Corina Carrillo.

Raptor ID System
In an effort to keep schools safe, MISD has installed the Raptor System that will document visitors in the building. Due to this new system all parents and visitors must have ID (Drivers License) to visit in the classrooms, cafeteria, attend a field trip or volunteer. Please have your license ready when you come to campus. A name tag will be printed for you with your picture and what part of the building you will be visiting.

We have expanded the use of our Raptor system to include logging tardies and when a student is picked up early. Remember that both count towards the Compulsory Attendance laws.

Everyone's cooperation is greatly appreciated
