Welcome to Mr. Simmons A+ Lab. All credits in this classroom will be attained through the A+ self-paced computer system. Our goal this year is to quickly obtain as many credits as possible while retaining all learned information in order to be successful on the TAKS or EOC test.

Overview:

Every student is expected to come to class everyday with a pencil and a notebook for note-taking. Once you have logged-on A+, each lesson has a pre-test. If a 70 or above is scored, you will automatically receive credit for that lesson. However, if you do not master the pretest, you will take notes on the lesson, do a practice test, and attempt up to three mastery tests.

Your highest test score is the grade for that lesson. YOU CANNOT PASS IF YOU DO NOT TAKE NOTES. Your final grade is the average of each lesson as well as the final exam. Five points will be given for positive participation.

Supplies:

A pencil and notebook is required daily.

Music:

Music will be allowed as long as it is appropriate, not through the computer, and does not inhibit learning. Music privileges may be taken away at any time.

Attitude and Work Ethic:

It is extremely important to come to school everyday and give 100% during every class period. Be responsible for your education. If you set goals and work hard, you will achieve those credits accompanied by good grades as well as pass all TAKS or EOC tests.
