District Accountability

School districts in Texas are measured by a multitude of tools.  These measurement tools all vary in what they measure, how they measure, who they measure, as well as when they measure students and programs within the district.

State Accountability System -- The new state accountability system was introduced in 2013.  This system is very different from the prior system in that this system attempts to integrate the state and federal requirements for accountability and assessment in Texas public schools.

The new system measures student performance in a variety of ways and includes targets for increased student achievement, achieving student progress, closing the performance gaps among the historically lowest performing race/ethnicity sub-populations, and adequately preparing students for high school and beyond with the post-secondary readiness component.
