Can you believe we are already into November? The holidays will be here before we can blink. It is true that time flies when you are having fun!
I want to thank everyone who participated in our first NO HASSLE FUNDRAISER! It was a resounding success and has allowed us to purchase needed items and programs for Greathouse teachers and students. Speaking of purchases, here is a short list of the things the PTA has provided for the school so far this year:
Money to each teacher to purchase classroom supplies
Backpacks and soft touch stylus’ for each 6th grade student for use with their LearnPads
Mr. Blue Shoes, a music education program coming in February
Percussion instruments for Mrs. Hamilton’s music programs
Book Fair is coming soon! Reading is key to a student’s success, so we hope everyone will plan to shop the Book Fair with their child. Our annual Peppermint Village Holiday Shop is also just around the corner in December. The Holiday Shop is NOT a fundraiser, but a service provided by the PTA to allow students to do some holiday shopping for their family and friends.
The Greathouse PTA cannot do any of this without the help of all of our wonderful volunteers! Our Volunteer of the Month for September was Shaina Guitierrez. Our Volunteer of the Month for October was Sommer Bledsoe. Thank you, Shaina and Sommer for all you do for Greathouse!
As always, feel free to contact me with any questions, comments, or concerns regarding PTA.
I wanted to send a huge Thank You out to all of those that contributed to our No Hassle Fundraiser this year. Thanks to your generosity we were able to raise $6,874.00 and non one had to sell anything! The prizes will go out before Thanksgiving as well as the drawing for the Kindle Fire.
Thank you to all of those that helped make Knightfest a huge success! The donations of candy, cookies, items for baskets, and most importantly your time helped us raise $7,682.00 for Greathouse. The evening was a fun time for everyone! Thank you!
Friendly Reminders to Parents:
*****Parents/Visitors may only bring lunch for their own children during the school day. Parents/Visitors may not bring lunch for
their child's friend. Parents/visitors may not purchase cafeteria snacks for other students. This is a state requirement that must be
followed. Thank you for your help and cooperation.
******It is a state requirement that all students attend school. Tardiness, leaving early and missing school interfere with a student's
learning. Please make sure that your child is in school from 8:00 - 3:20. When a student is tardy, they start the school day behind
and interrupt instruction that has already begun. If a student leaves early on a regular basis, he/she is missing important instruction
and disrupting class. If your child is sick, please make sure that you contact our office at 689-6250. Thank you!
